France launches €3 million marine energy R&D call

French National Research Agency (ANR), in collaboration with France Energies Marines (FEM), has launched a second call for marine research and development projects.

The call for projects in 2016 has a total budget of €3 million and is part of the SET-Plan set by the European Commission.

ANR will co-finance 50% of eligible project expenses, with funding from €50,000 to €2 million.

The projects eligible for funding are those that improve performance/competitiveness of the value chain, support the deployment of supplier networks, optimisation of logistics flows, development of standards, systems integration, non-technical aspects which include environment and financing, and social issues.

Proposed projects must be a public/private collaboration, except for projects managed by FEM.

The maximum duration of proposed projects should not be longer than 36 months.

The deadline for project applications is set for April 22, 2016, and the winners will be announced in July, 2016.
