France: PIRIOU Shipyard Delivers Tug SI EL HAOUES

PIRIOU Shipyard, the shipbuilding branch of PIRIOU in Concarneau (France), delivered the “SI EL HAOUES”, the third in a series of four harbour tugs. The vessel left Concarneau last week for the port of Arzew, Algiers. SI EL HAOUES has a length of 32 metres and has similar characteristics to the other three vessels.

The tug can reach a speed of thirteen knots and has a bollard pull of 72 tonnes. The service provided by PIRIOU Shipyard also includes training of the crews to run these vessels. On-site technical assistance is also ensured by a technician from the Shipyard.

The first two tugs were delivered last autumn. The last vessel, for the port of Arzew, will also be delivered later this year.

Thanks to these additional services and the succession of repair and construction contracts, PIRIOU wishes to strengthen its position in the Algerian market and forge new partnerships with the port businesses.
