Fred. Olsen Express, Baleària to Link Huelva and the Canary Islands

Spanish ferry companies Fred. Olsen Express and Baleària are to introduce a new service between the Canary Islands and Huelva on November 11 through their alliance Canary Bridge Seaways (CBS).

As informed, there will be three weekly rotations including two ships, the Clipper Pennant and the Martín i Soler. The first vessel will be exclusively for cargo and the second will carry passengers, vehicles and cargo.

The route will be triangular between the ports of Huelva, La Luz in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

Departures from the Peninsula will be Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays at 8 p.m. while from the Canary Islands, they will be Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays at 12 p.m. from Las Palmas and 8 p.m. from Tenerife.

Featuring a gross tonnage of 14,759 tons, Clipper Pennant is a 2009-built RoRo ship owned by the UK-based Seatruck Ferries.

Martín i Soler is a 2009-built ferry, with a capacity for 1,200 people, 330 passenger cars and 1,185 linear meters of cargo. Earlier this year, Baleària unveiled plans to upgrade five of its ferries to run on LNG, including Martín i Soler.
