Gallery: Terntank Names Its Two Dual-Fuel Chemical Tankers

Swedish tanker owner Terntank Rederi A/S held a naming ceremony for the first two of its four newbuilds on March 26 at AVIC Dingheng Shipbuilding in China.

The two vessels, M/T Ternsund and M/T Ternfjord, are dual-fuelled 15,000 dwt product tankers, running on both LNG and diesel. The company says they can ensure bunker reductions of 8 tonnes per 24 hours.

According to Terntank, the M/T Ternsund is to be delivered at the end of June 2016, after which it will enter into a time charter with Finnish North European Oil Trade OY (NEOT), primarily distributing refined oil products from NEOT’s refinery in Gothenburg, Sweden.

The delivery of M/T Ternfjord is scheduled for August 2016. Once delivered, Terntank says the vessel will be chartered to ExxonMobil, Norway, distributing refined oil products from ExxonMobil’s refinery in Slagentangen, Norway to customers along Norway’s coastline.

The remaining two newbuilds are to be delivered at the end of 2016 and beginning of 2017 respectively.
