Gas Natural Cegas to Build Gas Distribution Network in Spain

The general director of energy for the Valencia Region, Antonio Cejalvo, the mayor of Benidorm, Agustín Navarro, and the general manager of Gas Natural Cegas, Roberto Cámara, attended the institutional valve opening event, which symbolises the arrival of the supply to Benidorm and the start of construction works on the distribution network in this town in Alicante.

The company will invest almost seven million euros to build a 20-km long distribution network, which will enable more than 30,000 homes and 545 businesses and hotels to benefit from natural gas. It is anticipated that the first users will have access to supply before this summer.

Gasification in three phases

The Benidorm distribution network will be developed over three stages. The trunk network will be built in the first phase, which will start from Avenida Beniardá and will bring supply to the Colonia Madrid area and the town centre. Next, through Calle Esperanto, the distribution network will continue towards the Levante and Rincón de Loix area, with the aim of expanding and consolidating both areas.

In the third stage, supply will be brought to the Poniente area up to Avenida de La Villa Joiosa, which will bring natural gas supply to the La Cala area.

Presence in the Valencia Region

Gas Natural Cegas, the GAS NATURAL FENOSA gas distribution company, has been operating in the Valencia Region for over 160 years and has more than 630,000 supply points.

The company currently supplies natural gas to 187 towns and cities in the Valencia Region and continues to invest considerable sums in taking natural gas to new ones, as well as strengthening the current distribution and transport network.
