Gas Production Capacity in Iran to Double

Iranian minister of petroleum Rostam Qasemi says the country’s natural gas production capacity will double within the next three years.

Speaking at the inauguration of a gas supply network in Pol-e Sefid in Mazandaran province, Rostam Qasemi said the country’s gas production capacity is estimated to hit 1.4 billion cubic meters in the next 3 years, IRNA reported.

He said negotiations are underway for exporting gas to neighboring countries.

Qasemi went on to say that, currently 97 percent of all cities of the country are enjoying gas services.

It’s worth mentioning that, rural areas have witnessed a big revolution in gas supply over past years so that at present 50 percent of the country’s villages are benefit from this god gift.
