Gassco of Norway is considering a floating LNG (FLNG) option for a gas project the company is planning in the Barents Sea, Erik Johnsen Deputy Director General at Nowegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy said at the Flame conference in Amsterdam.

According to him, preferable options for the Barents Sea project would be to export gas via pipeline or LNG.

Norway already has an LNG plant located at the Island of Melkøya near Hammerfest and the plant is supplied from Barents Sea’s Snøhvit field.
