Gazprom, Greece Hold Talks on Gas Cooperation

Director General of Gazprom Export Alexander Medvedev met last week in Athens with the Greek Minister for the Environment, Energy and Climate Change Giorgos Papakonstantinou and the Executive Director Kharis Sakhinis of DEPA, the state-owned company which is managing the shipment of Russian natural gas to the Greek market.

The talks focused on the state of play of the gas markets with special emphasis on the soaring natural gas demand in Greece and its deliveries in the winter period.

Parties also discussed the prospects of privatization of Greek energy companies DEPA and DESFA.
