Gazprom, Greece talk European gas supply diversification

Alexey Miller of Gazprom and Panagiotis Lafazanis, Minister of Productive Reconstruction, Environment and Energy of Greece met in Moscow.

The parties addressed Russian gas supplies to Greece and other issues of cooperation in the energy sector, a Gazprom statement reveals.

It was emphasized that diversification of export routes was essential for enhancing the reliability of supplies to European consumers.

Gazprom intends to build a 180 kilometers natural gas pipeline to Turkey via the Black Sea with a planned border crossing between Turkey and greece in Ipsala. The volume of gas to be delivered to the border between the two countries is estimated at 47 billion cubic meters.
