Gazprom pins gas transfer security on Ukraine
Russian gas supplies to Europe will depend on Ukraine honoring the transit contract, Russian gas giant Gazprom said in a statement.
The company stated that it is fully satisfying the demand of its European partners, and its Board of Directors authorised the management to take measures in order to minimise the risk of disruption of transit gas supplies to European consumers during the autumn-winter period 2014-2015.
The company also noted that Naftogaz accumulated a debt of $5.3 billion due to “chronic” non-payments.
