GDF Suez’s worker, injured in an offshore accident which occurred in the Netherlands on Friday, June 14, has been released from the hospital.

In an e-mail sent to Offshore Energy Today, the oil company’s communication department said that the worker “was released from the hospital on Saturday after suffering minor physical injuries.”

Two workers lost their lives during the event, which happened early on Friday on board the L5A gas platform in the Dutch sector of the North Sea, some 100 kilometres north of Den Helder.

The accident took place during pressure tests on the equipment when a high-pressure hose shot loose during maintenance work, killing two workers and wounding a third.
