GEFO Orders Six Tankers in China

German shipping group GEFO has ordered six stainless steel chemical tankers in China.

The six 3,600 dwt ships will be built at AVIC Dingheng shipyard.

GEFO and AVIC signed a letter of intent for the construction of the vessels in February this year.

As informed by AVIC, the newbuilds are scheduled for delivery in 2020 and 2021. With a speed of 13 knots, each of the ships will feature a length of 99.98 meters and a width of 14 meters.

The price Gesellschaft für Öltransporte (GEFO) will pay for the tankers has not been disclosed.

World Maritime News contacted GEFO for more details on the matter, however, the group is yet to reply.

Based in Hamburg, GEFO has a fleet of around 100 ships.
