Genesis to provide engineering support to BP

TechnipFMC’s subsidiary and a provider of engineering services for the oil & gas industry, Genesis, has been awarded two front-end engineering contracts by the UK oil major BP.

Genesis said on Wednesday that the two frame agreement contracts with BP would cover conceptual, pre-FEED, and FEED stages of a project lifecycle.

The contracts between are agreed on a global level meaning that Genesis will continue to engage early with BP in their major operating regions all over the world.

The work scope covered by the contracts regards all engineering aspects of BP’s upstream portfolio covering onshore, offshore, and subsea projects.

John Cambridge, Genesis’ Managing Director, said: “This award is strategically important to Genesis which further cements our long-term global relationship with BP.

“The global reach of our 15 operating centers aligns well with BP’s global portfolio of projects, while our class leading knowledge sharing processes means that we share best practice between regions to deliver maximum value to BP.”

Apart from BP, Genesis’ clientele includes other supermajors as well as national oil companies, and small independents.

Genesis has been around for 28 years, and it became a part of Technip back in 2012. After the French oilfield services giant had completed the merger with U.S. subsea equipment specialist FMC Technologies in January 2017, Genesis became a part of the newly formed company TechnipFMC.
