GeoSea Completes A2SEA Acquisition

International competition authorities have approved the acquisition of A2SEA by Belgian GeoSea, part of DEME Group.

The agreement was signed in July, where the former owners DONG Energy and Siemens International agreed to sell the full ownership of A2SEA to GeoSea.

Michael Glavind, CEO at A2SEA said; “We are very pleased to welcome our new owners, GeoSea. GeoSea is a well-known and highly respected contractor within offshore wind. We look forward to the co-operation drawing on the expertise from our new colleagues in GeoSea.”

Luc Vandenbulcke, managing director GeoSea added: “The activities of A2SEA represent a strong and complementary fit with the operations of GeoSea. While GeoSea is mainly specialized in foundation works and in the engineering, procurement, construction and installation (EPCI) of the Balance of Plant for offshore wind farms, A2SEA is a pioneer in transporting and installing turbines. Many times GeoSea has worked on projects where A2SEA later on installed turbines. Our combined organisation will be well-positioned to provide a broader range of integrated services and solutions to renewable energy customers.”

A2SEA will continue to operate out of Denmark with offshore wind turbine service and installation.
