Bladt Completes First Load-out of Monopyles for Gwynt Y Môr Offshore Wind Farm

Bladt Industries and EEW SPC have successfully completed the load-out of the first two foundations for the Gwynt Y Môr Offshore Wind Farm located in the Irish Sea.

Monday April 9th the Transition Pieces were loaded out from German facilities in Lubmin and subsequently load-out of the two Monopiles, fabricated by EEW SPC in Rostock, were completed Wednesday April 11th.

Three ships, Joerg N, Bente and Marlene, are employed on time charter in connection with the transportation of the 160 foundations.

Gwynt y Môr is to be built with an installed capacity of 576 megawatts in Liverpool Bay, around 18 kilometres off the North Wales coast. The wind farm will consist of 160 Siemens’ turbines with the capacity of 3.6MW.
