At a solemn ceremony held today at HafenCity in Hamburg the president of BSC Monika Moritz Breuch named the third Josef Möbius Bau GmbH’s hopper dredger. The dredger, constructed at Sietas KG Schiffswerft, was named Eke Möbius, after the wife of the Josef Möbius Bau GmbH’s President.

In her speech, Monika Moritz Breuch emphasized the importance of this dredger, specifically considering the fact that the dredger runs on a special environmentally-friendly diesel electric drive.

“For me, this aspect is particularly significant – because I want the ecological awareness in shipping to gain greater prominence than it has had so far”, Monika Breuch-Moritz stressed. “It is extremely important for us in BSC to ensure the protection of the environment and our oceans, along with providing support to activities that will spur economic development of the country.”

Increased use of the sea, fishing, tourism, the offshore industry, removal of sand and gravel require a special approach and attitude towards the sea and marine resources.

Since its establishment Josef Möbius Bau GmbH has been investing strenuous efforts to protect the environment and is proud to say that it has accomplished great success in this process.
