Germany: Officials Invite Bids for Port of Helgoland Dredging

Gemeinde Helgoland has invited bidders to submit their offers for the Port of Helgoland dredging program.

This contract includes construction works to produce a 15m wide area along the quay (including pipeline and quay equipment), earthworks and embankment construction, ordnance removal with accompanying sediment removal and replacement, dredging with accompanying water-side ordnance clearance operations and full and partial dismantling of existing buildings.

As part of the Port of Helgoland expansion project, the south quay in the outer harbour of over a length of about 150m will be renovated, together with the deepening of the outer harbour on a 50m wide strip alongside the quay.

The project period is 16 months from the date of contract award, and the tender deadline is July 31, 2013.
