GFS Unveils Second LNG Conversion Solution

GFS Corp, having recently announced the availability of the first commercial technology that allows large mine haul trucks to operate on natural gas, is quickly following up with its second offering in the series, the EVO-MT 7770 designed for the CAT 777 series of trucks.

Both systems are designed to be installed without any major modifications to the chassis or drive engine of the truck.

The EVO–MT 7770 System has been designed to maintain the proven reliability and performance of the Caterpillar 777. In the event of a fault condition or low LNG fuel level, the System seamlessly switches the truck to 100% diesel operation regardless of operating mode. Truck haul capacity is maintained after the EVO-MT 7770 System is installed and engine power and torque output is maintained to OEM specifications.

With the EVO-MT 7770 System, we have targeted yet another workhorse haul truck found in mining operations around the world”, said Jason Green, President of GFS Corp. “The Caterpillar 777 is a ubiquitous platform and our mining customers now have the option of operating this truck in a more cost effective and sustainable manner.

GFS Corp is actively developing the EVO-MT System for other mine haul truck platforms including both mechanical and electric drive applications in the 100 to +300 ton size range.
