Shiprepair and services company Goltens has been awarded a contract for two BP Shipping’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers.

The contract includes the engineering and retrofit installation of OceanSaver ballast water treatment (BWT) systems onboard the British Innovator and British Merchant.

Both of the LNG vessels were built by Samsung Heavy Industries back in 2003. They each have a carrying capacity of 138,208 cubic meters of LNG.

Goltens said in a statement it would undertake the engineering and prefabrication work in 2017 and then complete the installation services in 2018.

The company did not reveal the value of the deal.
