GRS Now Pre-Qualified Service Provider at Achilles (Germany)

GRS German Renewables Shipbrokers GmbH from Hamburg is one of the leading shipbrokers in renewable energy throughout Europe.

It is now one of the pre-qualified service providers at the Achilles Group. Recently, standards and processes, familiar from the oil and gas market, have increasingly become common practice in the offshore wind industry. A case in point is Achilles, one of the most popular platforms for pre-qualifying suppliers and service providers.

Consequently, energy companies save time in selecting their appropriate business partners. Matthias Mross, GRS’s Managing Director, also welcomes the fact that pre-qualification is leading to rising quality standards in the industry. “In an industry where time management and safety aspects are so vital to operations, we advocate this type of pre-qualification concept. It will also help us to optimize processes in the supply chain in future”.

Achilles is one of the globally leading providers of integrated solutions regarding supplier management and supply chains and it partners with around 800 major purchasing companies worldwide. The service provider forms and manages industry-specific communities and currently brings together more than 77,000 qualified suppliers with relevant purchasing agents.

The countries covered by Achilles are subdivided into various individual networks. GRS has been certified as a pre-qualified service provider in all three networks and will therefore be able to participate in all relevant European calls for tender as follows:

  • Connexio for energy companies in Central Europe
  • Sellihca for the energy industry in Scandinavia
  • UVDB for the energy industry in the UK

In the case of European tendering procedures in particular, acquiring suppliers using a supplier management system is quite common. Major energy utilities above all place emphasis on Achilles registration. This enables them to screen their contract partners regarding their safety and quality standards at an early stage. This saves time and ensures the project is successful.
