Guinard Energies Demonstrates Its Poseide Tidal Turbine

Guinard Energies has demonstrated its Poseide tidal turbine in real-sea conditions off the coast of Brittany in France.

The demonstration took place as part of the marine renewable energy forum, taking place at the Port of Navalo, from April 15 until June 3, 2017.

Guinard Energies’ Poseide system, consisting of a small ducted turbine, was launched off the barge at the Gulf of Morbihan, after it started producing power.

The demonstration comes ahead of the larger 250kW turbine Guinard Energies plans to deploy in southern Brittany for testing.

The turbine will have a diameter of 4 meters, and a duct length of 6 meters.

The installation of the system is planned for 2018, Guinard Energies said.
