Gujarat state confirms construction of two new LNG terminals

The Gujarat government confirmed earlier reported plans to set up two LNG terminals with the combined capacity of 10 Mtpa.

Responding to a question raised during the Gujarat Assembly, Chief Minister Anandiben Patel, said the state already has two similar terminals in operation, the Hazira and Dahej LNG terminals.

The two additional terminals will be set up near Jafrabad, which will be an FSRU-based terminal developed by Swan Energy with a total capacity of 5 mmtpa.

The second terminal at Mundra will be developed by Adani Group and the Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation with an initial capacity of 5 mmtpa.
