Rotor blades for the ‪Haliade 150-6MW offshore wind turbines that will make up the Block Island Wind Farm‬ arrived to the Port of Providence yesterday, Deepwater Wind reported via social media.

Furthermore, the developer of the first offshore wind farm in the United States has informed that GE readied the second nacelle for shipment to the Port of Providence, Rhode Island, where the turbine towers have already arrived.

The blades have arrived to the USA from Denmark, with Blue Water Shipping in charge of the transportation. The company also transported the tower sections from Avilles, Spain, to Providence.

Nacelles for the five Haliade turbines are coming from GE’s factory in Saint Nazaire, France.

The 30MW Block Island Wind Farm is scheduled to come online at the end of 2016.
