Havyard’s Newbuild Named

Fosnavåg, Norway, has witnessed the namig ceremony of Havyard’s newbuild 115 ‘African Inspiration’, with Minister of Finance, Siv Jensen, as its godmother.

The Minister of Finance christened the 113-meter vessel yesterday in the presence of many spectators, including Taofik Adegbite, co-founder, owner and CEO of Marine Platforms and Havyard Group Director Geir Johan Bakke.

The locals and other interested people also had the opportunity to take a closer look at Havyard’s newbuild in Fosnavåg before the conference.

Over 300 students from local schools got a guided tour onboard “African Inspiration” and information about the activities in Havyard.

Nigerian company Marine Platforms ordered a Havyard 857 Subsea vessel last year in April.

A Havyard 857 Subsea IMR (Inspection Maintenance and Repair) vessel is built for installation, maintenance and repair work on oil installations on the seabed. It was designed by Havyard Design & Solutions in Fosnavåg and built at Havyard Ship Technology in Leirvik in Sogn.
