HHI Cuts Steel for Hoegh LNG's Fourth FSRU

Hyundai Heavy Industries Ltd. held, on Nov 11th, a steel cutting ceremony for Höegh LNG’s fourth floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), the HN2551.

The 170,000 cbm LNG FSRU, measuring 294 meters in length and 46 meters in width, can store 70,000 tons of chilled natural gas. The vessel will be able to operate as a floating LNG import terminal, as well as an ordinary LNG carrier.

All four newbuilds are purpose built FSRUs with larger storage and regasification capacity, higher energy efficiency and improved reliability.

The first three vessels are scheduled to be delivered in 2014 with the forth one to come in the first quarter of 2015.
