HiDef to Conduct Digital Video Aerial Surveys Offshore Northern Ireland

HiDef announced it has been selected to conduct Digital Video Aerial surveys for First Flight Wind for its proposed offshore wind farm in waters off the Co. Down coast, Northern Ireland.

It is envisioned that the project will have a capacity of 600 Megawatts (MW). A wind farm of this size could generate up to 20% of Northern Ireland’s electricity demand.

HiDef has been awarded a 24 month framework contract for baseline monitoring and were able to mobilise to deliver the first survey within 24 hours of contract notification.

John Martin Managing Director at HiDef commented “We are delighted to have been awarded our first contract in Northern Ireland. We have worked successfully with the consortium partners before and look forward to building on our combined expertise.”
