Höegh LNG makes management changes

Höegh LNG on Friday informed it plans to create a new operations division and made a number of organizational structure changes that will come into effect from January 15.

According to the company’s statement, in order to enhance the operating performance, Höegh LNG will set up a new division, the operations division, which will be headed by the chief operating officer, who will be responsible for the technical and commercial management of all Höegh LNG assets in operation.

Vegard Hellekleiv, previously chief technical officer, has been nominated to the position of COO, while Øivin Iversen, who until 2016 headed Höegh LNG’s FLNG activities, will replace Hellekleiv as chief technical officer.

In addition to the changes, Höegh LNG’s management team will consist of president and CEO, Sveinung Støhle, Steffen Føreid, chief financial officer, Ragnar Wisløff, chief development officer and Tom Solberg as chief of staff.

Speaking of the changes, the company’s president and CEO Sveinung Støhle said that the company has grown its FSRU business, with currently six FSRUs and two LNGCs in operation, and another three FSRU projects coming on stream the next 18 months in Ghana, Pakistan and Chile. Höegh LNG has a clear objective to further strengthen its position in this market.

“In order to optimize the way we work we are therefore adapting our organization to further improve our performance and competitive position,” Støhle concluded.
