Houlder unveils LNG bunkering vessel design

Provider of design, engineering services and equipment for the oil and gas industry, Houlder, unveiled case study for a 5,000 cbm LNG bunkering vessel.

With a length of 110 meters, the vessel would operate in sheltered waters, alongside in port or as a feeder between larger LNG terminals and smaller satellite storage facilities the company said.

The vessel’s transfer arm can be arranged to meet different requirements for ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore transfer at large LNG terminals, Houlder said.

Additionally, Houlder said the vessel will have the ability to assist in the warming up, gas freeing and aerating of receiving vessels’ LNG bunker tanks if required.
