Port of Iberia Making Plans for Dredging

Officials at the Port of Iberia are wasting no time moving forward with plans to have its deep water channel dredged.

The U.S. Senate passed the Water Resources Development Act that would secure more than $200 million for deepening that waterway.

But, if the act is not passed in the House-Senate Conference Committee, the project could be put on hold for another six years.

Iberia port director, Roy Pontiff is calling his recent trip to Washington successful.
