Dredging sediment from the Sound could end up in landscaping

The Bridgeport Port Authority and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers plan to dredge about 1.5 million cubic yards from the harbor and are awaiting results of a federal and state project on the uses for recycled sludge. The $2 million project will use sediment from a New Jersey harbor, which has a similar texture and chemical composition of silt found off the Bridgeport shore.
