Port authority celebrate court victory

The port authority yesterday hit out at the council saying council officials had misled elected members as well as the Shetland public, and had also tried to mislead port authority officials, a claim that was refuted by Mr Cluness.

Shetland Islands Council will now be faced with a massive legal bill as it also has to pay for the port authority’s legal expenses. In addition, LPA wants the council to pay a compensation claim from Belgian dredging company Jan de Nul, worth more than £1.6 million.
