Eidesvik $37 million charter extension

Norwegian-listed oilfield services group Eidesvik Offshore says it is extending its bareboat charter for its vessel Oceanic Viking for $37 million.

The company said it had agreed with P&O Maritime Services to a 5 year extension of the current bareboat charter.

The extension will start from 1 July 2010, Eidesvik said.

In addition, the charterer has an option to extend the contract for one year, Eidesvik added.

The contract value is about 210 million crowns (US $36.9 million).

Ocean Viking is a cable laying vessel and survey vessel which is operating in Australia for P&O Maritime.

The ship is being used by the Australian state for coast guarding operations, focusing on the fishing industry in waters off Australia.
