Eidesvik has provided full technical management, crewing and operation of Viking Neptun since December 2022 and this agreement extends the firm period to January 2027.

The three-year extension agreement also includes a two-year option for further extension.

Gitte Gard Talmo, President and CEO of Eidesvik Offshore said: “This extension is a testament to the exceptional performance of our dedicated crews. We are very pleased to continue our collaboration with DEME.”

DEME entered into an agreement with Eidesvik for the acquisition of Viking Neptun at the beginning of 2022 to reinforce its cable installation capacity. The DP3 offshore installation vessel arrived at DEME’s base in Vlissingen, the Netherlands, at the beginning of 2023.

In November last year, it was reported that Enersea delivered a modular next-level cable installation system (CIS) for the 145-meter-long vessel.
