UPDATE 1-Oman crude bound for US West Coast, S.Korea eyed

Oil traders and refiners on Thursday moved to dispatch prompt crude supplies to the U.S. West Coast, which will soon begin to feel the pinch of BP’s decision to shut down its massive Prudhoe Bay oilfield, traders said.

Independent U.S. refiner Tesoro Corp. (TSO.N: Quote, Profile, Research), which has several plants on the U.S. West Coast, has booked an 80,000-tonne crude oil tanker from Oman, shipbrokers said.
