Oily shipwreck removed from Ocean Shores beach

Removing an oily shipwreck from a beach near Ocean Shores will cost the state about $6 million.

The state Ecology Department says a contractor is removing large pieces of the Catala (kuh-TALL’-uh) from the dunes at Damon Point State Park. It should be gone in two weeks and the beach reopened to the public by late summer.
