HVS Cuts Steel for d’Amico's First Product Tanker

Hyundai-Vinashin Shipyard (HVS) at the Hull processing shop held, on May 24th 2013, a steel cutting ceremony for the Hull No. S408, the first 50,000 DWT Class Product Tanker in series of four vessels built for d’Amico International Shipping S.A., Italia.

The representatives of owner, Rina class and the shipyard attended the ceremony. The representatives of the owner pressed the start button to cut the 1st steel plate, marking the beginning of a shipbuilding process.

As current production schedule, keel laying of Hull No. S408 will be in the end of September, and delivery in the middle of 2014.

The main particulars of the vessels are as follows:

  • Length : 183m
  • Breath : 32.2m
  • Depth : 19.4m
  • Cargo capacity : 54,300 m3
  • Speed : 14.5knots

Since starting shipbuilding business in 2008, HVS has successfully delivered 40 bulk carriers to the worldwide ship-owners. Based on the accumulated experience, HVS is taking a new challenge, the building of product tanker.
