HydraWell Appoints Decom Expert as CCO

HydraWell has appointed decommissioning expert Tom Leeson to the newly created role of chief commercial officer based in Aberdeen, UK.

Tom Leeson has close to 30 years’ experience from the oil industry, working for both operators and oil services companies in the North Sea, Middle East, SE Asia and Brazil. He joins HydraWell following a period as interim CEO of UK trade body Decom North Sea.

Prior to this, he had a consulting role as principal decommissioning consultant & well abandonment manager, where he amongst other things has been the well engineering lead for development of abandonment strategy for more than 200 subsea and platform wells across a number of regulatory environments.

In addition, he has developed Well Abandonment Guidelines and has been a decommissioning lecturer at Robert Gordon’s University and for the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).

Leeson had previously spent a number of years in leadership roles for Halliburton, TS Marine, Acteon Group, Expro Group and Shell International.
