Hyundai Mipo Dockyard of South Korea has secured an order from Germany’s Bernhard Schulte to build a liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering vessel.

The contract includes an option for an additional sister vessel, Hyundai Mipo said in a statement issued on Sunday.

The 7,500-cbm LNG bunkering newbuild will be 117 metres long and 20 metres wide. It is slated for delivery in the second half of 2018.

Hyundai Mipo did not reveal the value of the deal.

Hamburg-based LNG supplier, Bomin Linde and Klaipedos Nafta, the owner and operator of the Lithuanian LNG terminal in Klaipeda, will charter the bunkering vessel as part of a contract signed back in September.

The vessel will be used to supply marine customers and small-scale LNG terminals along the Baltic Sea coast.
