ScottishPower Renewables, Iberdrola’s UK company, has combined the East Anglia 1 North, East Anglia 2 and East Anglia 3 projects into one 3.1 GW development.

The 1.4 GW East Anglia Three already has planning consent, while the planning applications for the further 1.7 GW at East Anglia One North and East Anglia Two were submitted in October 2019.

According to information in Iberdrola’s Q1 2020 report, the main engineering, design and site investigation work for East Anglia Hub is now in the development stage.

ScottishPower Renewables aims to begin construction in 2022 and anticipates a four-year construction period to complete the entire project.

The overall investment required will be around £ 6.5 billion (approx. € 7.4 billion). The company plans to confirm the major suppliers until the end of September 2020.
