Icon wins work on EnQuest’s Malaysian assets

Malaysian offshore support vessel provider Icon Offshore has been awarded a contract to provide a vessel to EQ Petroleum Production Malaysia, a subsidiary of the UK-based oil and gas company EnQuest. 

The Malaysian company will provide one straight supply vessel (SSV) to EnQuest on Seligi oil field and PM 8, which covers a group of oil fields.

The Seligi field is located approximately 240 kilometers offshore Peninsular Malaysia in a water depth of 73 meters. The entire oil field encompasses approximately 80 square kilometers and has been developed with Seligi-A, the main production platform and separate gas compression platform, along with seven minimum facilities satellite platforms tied back to Seligi-A.

The PM8 comprises of six developed fields, Lawang, Langat, Serudon, North Raya, South Raya and Yong, which have been developed with four minimum facilities satellite platforms tied back to Seligi-A.

Icon’s contract will start in December 2016 and will continue for a period of one year. The long-term contract is valued at approximately RM 5.6 million ($1.25M).

The company’s SSVs primarily operate in shallow water and are used for the transportation of equipment, cargo pipe, drilling fluids, cement, fuel and fresh water from supply bases to offshore platforms and facilities.
