IKM said that the duration of the frame agreement was six years plus an option period, and applies to all Aker BP installations on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.

The agreement and projects will be managed from IKM Testing’s head office in Sola, Norway. Projects at the Skarv field will be managed from IKM Testing’s department in Kristiansund.

The Skarv field is located some 210 km off the coast of Sandnessjøen. It came on stream in December 2012 and has an expected field life of 25 years. The field is developed with an FPSO unit anchored to the seabed.

According to the company, it will have overall EPC responsibility for nitrogen services, technical cleaning, maintenance and repair of mechanical connections during maintenance shutdowns.

Also, the agreement extends to operational support services and ad-hoc work between the maintenance shutdowns.

The collaboration between IKM Testing and Aker BP will have a strong focus on HSE, new technology, digitalization, new cleaning methods, and smarter and more efficient implementation of multidisciplinary operations.

Vidar Haugland, IKM Testing’s VP of Norway operations, said: “We are very pleased with the confidence that Aker BP shows and sees it as a solid recognition of our competence and capabilities. We look forward to continuing a long-term relationship with Aker BP for many years to come.”
