Image of the Day: Arklow Venus Sails into Port of Belfast

Arklow Venus in Belfast
Arklow Venus, a 89.75m cargo ship registered in the Netherlands, is shown on today’s image entering the Port of Belfast, the UK last week.

She was built in 2000 by the Netherlands-based Pattje Shipyard B.V. and classified by Bureau Veritas.

Arklow Venus is powered by MaK 6M25 1499kW engine, with gearbox and controllable pitch propeller, and can reach a speed of up to 11.5 knots.

She is equipped with GMDSS (A2), echosounder, 2 radars, gyro & magnetic compass, AP, navtex, speed/distance log two GPS receivers, and a bowthruster.
