Photo of the Day: Nordsee One Foundations Falling into Place

RWE AG has shared a photo of the world’s biggest jack-up vessel in operation, Innovation, installing one of 54 foundations at the 332MW Nordsee One offshore wind farm in the German waters of the North Sea.

The installation work is being carried out by GeoSea, part of DEME Group. The contract includes the installation of all monopile foundations and transition pieces.

Innovation installed the first foundation at the Nordsee One on 15 December, and the project is expected to be completed by May 2016.

Once completed, the Nordsee One will consist of 54 6.2M 126 Senvion turbines installed in water depths ranging between 25 and 29 meters.
