India - Aban Offshore Secures Three Year Contract for Jack-Up Rig

India’s biggest offshore drilling contractor in the private sector, Aban Offshore has won a three year contract worth USD 57 million from ONGC for deployment of jack-up rig Aban II , reported The Economic Times.

In a regulatory filing, Aban said that the contract is expected to start during the 1Q of 2012.

However, the company did not unveil where the jack-up rig will be deployed.

Aban II (formerly Griffin Alexander III) is a jack-up rig of Bethlehem JU-200 MC design delivered in September 1981.
