India awaits largest LNG cargo in December

In preparations to start importing liquefied natural gas from North America, India will receive its largest shipment of LNG in the first week of December. 

According to Petronet LNG’s CEO Ashok Kumar Balyan, Dahej terminal will receive the Q-Max LNG carrier at its new jetty and supply the load to Indian Oil Corp., reports Bloomberg.

Gail of India has signed deals to buy a total of 5.8 million tons of  North American LNG for 20 years starting from 2017 or 2018.

Earlier in the year Petronet agreed to import 800,00 tons of LNG from Qatar for a period of 12 months in order to supply Indian Oil refineries.
