India: GAIL Plans to Import More Than 16 LNG Cargoes
Gail India, the nation’s biggest natural gas distributor, plans to import more than sixteen spot cargoes of LNG in 2012/13, Economic Times reported, citing Prabhat Kumar, the company’s director of marketing.
“Dabhol will be commissioned later this month. We have tied up a spot cargo with Excelerate for commissioning,” he said.
“With Dabhol coming up we will be sourcing more than 16 spot LNG cargoes in the next fiscal (2012/13),” he added.
The Dabhol LNG terminal will have a capacity of 5 million tonnes per annum and it will be operated by Ratnagiri Gas and Power, a joint venture formed by NTPCÂ and GAIL .
