India: Goa Shipyard Organizes Workshop on CSR and Sustainable Development

Department of Public Enterprises, Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises, Govt of India in association with Goa Shipyard Limited is organized a one day Workshop on CSR and Sustainable Development (SD) at Goa on 19 October 2012.

The Workshop is aimed at creating awareness among the Central Public Sector Enterprises for effective implementation of CSR and SD. The delegates from the CPSEs across the country are expected to attend the workshop .

Significantly, the thrust of CSR in public sector is on inclusive growth, sustainable development and capacity building with due attention to the socio-economic needs of the neglected and marginalized sections of the society. The workshop shall touch upon the niche domains i.e. the planning, co-ordination and implementation of CSR and SD activities in the light of DPE Guidelines.

The Department of Public Enterprises, Govt. of India has introduced Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Development (SD) as parameters in MOU for the CPSEs. The workshop shall also deliberate on the issues and challenges related to implementation of CSR and SD in CPSEs so that the MOU exercise is conducted meaningfully.
