India: Kochi LNG terminal awaits Qatari cargo

Liquefied natural gas cargo loaded at Qatar’s Ras Laffan complex has been dispatched to Petronet’s Kochi LNG import terminal in India. 

According to the shipping data, the 155,000 cbm LNG carrier Aseem departed from Ras Laffan on December 20, and it is scheduled to deliver its cargo to the Kochi terminal on December 25.

The terminal is located in the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) of Puthuvypeen near the entrance to Cochin Port. The jetty is designed to receive LNG tankers between 65,000 to 216,000 cubic metres.

Kochi terminal has two LNG storage tanks with a capacity of 155,000 cubic metres each.
