India: Sal River Dredging Gets Nod

The Cavelossim residents have decided to give their consent for the proposed Sal river dredging project, reports goacom.com.

Ms Viola D’Costa, the sarpanch, pointed out that this dredging program is very important for everybody who is facing navigational problems on the river, and added: “The panchayat will inform the Captain of Ports (CoP) about the fresh resolution.”

The CoP officials have announced that it was important that the dredging work commenced immediately, adding that they had already received a proposal from the Cutbona trawler and boat owners to dredge the river mouth.
