Torrent Power, India’s private power utility, is reportedly looking to buy cargoes of liquefied natural gas set for delivery over the course of the year.

Citing sources, Reuters reports the company is looking to buy a total of five LNG cargoes in 2019.

The tender already closed on Wednesday, January 9, and is valid until January 11.

The company is looking for one cargo delivery in February, May, July October and December, each.

All cargoes will be purchased at a Brent oil-linked prices apart from the February cargo that will be purchased at a fixed price.

Torrent Power owns and operates three gas-fired power plants with a total of around 2,500 MW production capacity in addition to a coal-fired power plant and a number of wind and solar power plants.

Its Sugen facility near Surat in South Gujarat is partially supplied from Petronet LNG’s Dahej liquefied natural gas import facility.
